Natural Beauty Blogger: Green Life In Dublin

I was just starting into the Green Beauty World when I had questions and what products or recommendations. Renata was very helpful and friendly as I started my search into the green beauty world. I connected with her through Instagram. She is wonderful, informative about ingredients in products plus overcame dermatitis on her own. I sent her a few questions to answer.

What made you go into green beauty? One weekend I randomly bought a book by Janey Lee Grace called "Imperfectly Natural Woman" and it made me think what is in the products we are using every day without even thinking about it, and that there are natural alternatives to everything! So I ditched all the toxic cleaning stuff I had and started incorporating more natural and green products into my life, like organic food and natural fiber clothes, bedding and such. Clean and green beauty products were nowhere to be found at that time (I transitioned about eight years ago, I think? There were no abundance of the websites back then as the green beauty wasn't popular back then, it exploded only in the recent years) so I continued using conventional makeup and face cream, up until I got a horrible reaction to a newly released Radiance Face Cream by Olay - my face went beetroot red for three days straight! So much "radiance" for you, eh? I remember wearing three layers of a war paint (aka foundation) as my boss wouldn't let me to take time off "for such a nonsense". That was the final straw and I went completely natural from then on. And the rest is history! Thanks God there are natural alternatives for everything, and they work even better. I think people need to open their eyes to what's really in their products.

What are your favorite green beauty products? If you can pick one lipstick or mascara or foundation?
Very tough question as I love all my green beauty products! Just one? This is impossible :) My natural instinct is to say mineral foundation, but then again it would make my face one dimensional with no life to it (I have extremely dark under eye circles and dermatitis scars, I know, I am lucky girl) so I might go for blush instead, as I could use it on the cheeks and on the lips too. Don't be afraid of playing with your products :) Anything resembling Nars Orgasm is instant favourite of mine, but it has to be natural product of course. I like Zuii Organic Melon or 100%Pure Mimosa blushes. If I could pick a second product, it would be Hynt Beauty concealer, the best concealer hands down.

Matte or Dewy look?
Dewy all the way.

Two products you can't live without?
Coconut oil and manuka honey for DIY masks. Both products are so versatile!

How many products are on your wishlist?
My wishlist is two miles long, honestly! We are all such an enablers here in the green beauty community, it is not even funny:

What product you never leave at home?
I must have a lip balm with me at all times. Hurraw or Bees Flying wild.

What's your favourite green beauty DIY?
At the moment that would be manuka honey masks, either on it's own or mixed with some other great ingredient, like matcha tea.

One tip to share with your followers.
Now is the perfect time to switch if you haven't already! And always check the ingredients on everything, You would surprised at amount of green washing going on. Look for natural ingredients you know, because if you can't recognize the ingredient, your body won't either.

Special Thanks for Renata! @Green_Life_In_Dublin

Lily Lolo Review

Left to Right: Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation SPF 15 in Blonde, Lily Lolo Limited Edition Super Kabuki Brush, and Lily Lolo Natural Black Mascara

Lily Lolo Mineral Cosmetics was founded by Vikki Khan. She was on journey to find a lightweight foundation without harsh chemicals, dyes, fillers, cruelty-free, and more.My thought is one of the first few foundations I tried. I order sample sizes on color tones in my shade range. I'm a mix of blondie & candy cane. It goes on easy, smooth, quick on skin with kabuki brush. I ordered limited edition super kabuki because of the blue color but the softest to touch. I order two samples finishing powders. One is Lily Lolo Flawless Silk Finishing Powder sets foundation and light-diffusing and Translucent Silk Powder is sheer and set foundation. Also has a Flawless Matte one too.A Lily Lolo Black Vegan Mascara is easy to apply with a volumizing & lengthening effect.Overall Lily Lolo is one company that I love a lot of their products. Easy for quick on the go girl.Ingredients List on website:  Made with pure minerals, organic, and natural ingredients. Empties

Empties

Ellovi sample from Petit Vour Box - It was a gentle scrub, moisture, and washes of but I felt residue left over from the product. I like a little rough exfoliation on my scrubs. I won't be purchasing.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche - (Meringue) I love most of Bite Beauty lip products but Amuse Bouche texture and finish wasn't my favorite. The color was nice but a little to light for my pale skin. Maybe try another one just to see if maybe got a defective one.

Ilia Lipstick - (No body's baby) Beautiful color, texture but it didn't last that long it started to smell like fried tortillas oil. Maybe purchase again if it doesn't have that smell.

Per-feck Mascara - Nice, easy to use, natural bristle brush, good coloring but I had it flake on my lower lash line. Look for a more natural mascara. Maybe repurchase.

Jane Iredale PureBrow Brow gel - (blonde not shown & auburn) Love gel brow gel. It easy to use, great coloring, texture, and waterproof. Repurchased.

Tata Harper Be True - Lip treatment is moisturizing, smells good, softer and smooths lips. I didn't notice any plumping plus pricey. I won't repurchase.

Agent Nateur Deodorant - (shiva rose) Love it! My underarms were smooth since using this product. Smell great, works great, and stick form so easy to use. Repurchase

Lily Lolo Sculpt & Contour Duo - Easy to use, great pigmentation, and easy to blend. Repurchased

Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation - (Candy Cane) My easy on the go favorite foundation! Fast, easy, natural look, doesn't break out skin. Repurchased three times.

Kypris Cleanser Concentrate (sample) - Easy to use, gentle, smooth, hydrating, pricey but would purchase.

Oille Beauty (sample) - Oily serum, smooth, soften hair, and hydrate dry hair. Messy and not my favorite smell. Maybe repurchase.

Briogeo Blossom & Bloom - Great for fine hair without weighing hair down. Smoothing, frizz free, hydrating, and smells yummy! Repurchased.

Pai Rosehip Serum - hydrating, smoothing, easy, non-oily on skin, and balancing skin. Repurchase.

Detox Market sample - (Mahalo Skincare) Petal Mask was hydrating, smell good, smoothing, soften skin but pricey. Would Repurchase.

Vapour Beauty sample - Lipstick Siren great smell, texture, good pigmentation, moisturizing on the lip. Repurchased.

Fitglow Beauty sample - (Alps) Great texture, milk beautiful color, and moisturizing. Will Repurchase soon!

Crunchi Cosmetics Beautifully Flawless Foundation Review

Crunchi Cosmetics (@crunchicollection) was blowing up on Instagram in the green beauty world. So, I decide to give it a try.  I love their saying, "I am smart. I am conscious. I am Beautiful."  Plus I love supporting companies that are just starting or not as known or a family business. I don't like businesses that selling to bigger companies that aren't cruelty-free or nontoxic free. Anyways that my opinion.  I love that they make you feel beautiful.

One, you know that they took the time into ingredients & packaging of the products.

Two, the presentation of the products.

Crunchi samples: White is primer, (04) Tan, (03) Medium, (2.5) Natural, (02) Light, (01) Fair.

Three, the ingredients. In Primer: aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, aqua, candelilla*, golden seal*, hydroxyethylcellulose, lavender extract*, olive leaf extract*, oregano leaf*, rice powder, avocado oil*, rosehip oil*, rosemary leaf extract*, silica, jojoba seed oil*, vitamin C, thyme extract*, Vitamin E.

In the Beautifully Flawless Foundation: aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, shea butter*, caprylic, beeswax*, dimethicone, glyceryl caprylate, glyceryl stearate, iron oxides  CI77491*,  CI77492*, CI77499*,  lavender extract*, olive leaf extract*, oregano leaf*, rice powder, rosehip oil*, rosemary leaf extract*, silica, jojoba seed oil*, vitamin c, stearic acid*, thyme extract*, titanium dioxide**,  vitamin E, vanilla planifolia fruit extract.

*** what I could find in listing

They are certified organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, toxin free, cruelty-free and made in USA.

I tried the primer and I liked that it didn't have a smell, it blended well, and cleared dry spots on my skin.

The beautifully flawless foundation was easy to blend, smooth over skin but I felt it does dry faster than most. The foundation is medium to build to full coverage and lightweight on. I used with beauty blender and flat brush but my skin was so dry that it showed up through my foundation. I have to say Next time exfoliate and really moisturize. Semi-matte foundation to me. It's a nice foundation and a decent price compared to most green beauty foundations.
